named after its designer, comes off the Forth Bridge

on 20th May 1967 with a southbound special, and

below, passing Copmanthorpe, south of York,

in April 1978

Back to 1967, when Sir Nigel was particularly busy, here being turned on the turntable at Carlisle Kingmoor on 28th October, watched by admiring tour participants,

Moving off the turntable ready for the next leg of the tour.
